Come along this Saturday to JJ Melbourne Memorial Hills Reserve, Terrey Hills for some off road fun for the whole family. Whether you are on your CX bike, mountain bike, uni cycle or your kids balance bike, we have a division for you. We will have you cycling, running and jumping all with a big smile on your face.
Round 2 of MWCC CX is also the final round of the NSW CX State Series. Don’t let that turn anyone off. Everyone is welcome, from first time ‘crossers to those battling for the State series championships.
After a cracking first round, we’re ramping things up for the final round at our Terrey Hills cyclocross course. There are races for everyone, any age on any bike. A family friendly day to have fun playing on bikes.
For the adults, we run two separate divisions, depending on your ability/age and bike. If you do not have a cyclocross bike but want to give the course a go on your mountain bike, hybrid commuter, unicycle then you are able to enter our Open Division at 2:10pm.
If you have a cyclocross bike, you can either enter our A Grade/Masters division or our CX Womens division.
Either option is bound to set your heart race, the lactic burning in your legs and a true test of your bike handling skills.
Be ready to not only ride the course but also to run sections, carry your bike and jump over numerous obstacles. As a rider described it after round one –
“I had forgotten how much fun, riding a bike could be”
MWCC is all about inclusion and so we have two free junior races on the day starting at 12:15pm. The kids will even pin on a race number to give them the whole race experience. Racing on a modified course, that always has them in sight, we have a race for Under 7 and a separate race for 7-12 year olds at 1:40pm. We have kids on tricycles, balance bikes, bmx bikes and mountain bikes. We don’t care about their ability or bike – we just want them out on course having fun. This opportunity is open to all children – their parents do not have to be members or racing themselves.
There will be a permanent kids ‘cross track open all day, so bring your kids along and let them loose. Don’t forget the BMX track and mini pump track are also open for public use. Free kid’s ‘cross racing kicks off from 13:40.
The location at JJ Melbourne Memorial Hills Reserve, Terrey Hills provides for plenty of viewing opportunities, with the riders regularly passing by the more popular viewing points.
