Every strong club is based on a strong foundation of member input and involvement. Clubs strive on member activation and participation and now is the time for our members to participate in our Annual AGM. We want you to nominate for a position and help continue to make MWCC the most successful club in the world. The AGM will be held on the 12th November 2017 at 5:00pm at Market Lane Cafe, Manly. All positions on the committee will be up open for nomination.
The annual AGM will take place in order to provide a year in review with a report from the President and the Treasurer. There will be a general discussion on the status of the club and also any specific items of concern or interest. We welcome input from all members, a varied membership base allows us to offer all of our members suitable engagement.
All positions will be made vacant on the committee and all positions open to current club members for nomination. Jim Buda has confirmed that he will be stepping down as President, a role that he has filled since 2011. Jim has been tireless in this position for a number of years and he has been an amazing asset for this Club. We are all appreciative of the work that he has done for so many years. Jim feels that with a vibrant club culture, strong finances and a positive outlook that this is the perfect time to continue the upward trajectory of the club and also provide continued rejuvenation of the committee.
We have received a nomination from Mitch Dixon for this role.
Antoni Mikac (VP), Richard Saunders (Treasurer) and Evan Snow (Secretary) have expressed interest in continuing in their respective roles. However their positions will still be up for nominations, often these expression of continued interest are made out of duty to see the position filled.
Positions that will be open for nomination:
This role involves the general leadership role of the club. It involves liaising with the various committee members and providing leadership on the general direction of the club. You will also be involved in discussions with local Council, Cycling NSW and Australia, sponsors and various other parties.
Mitch Dixon has nominated for this role.
This role acts as a support for the President and also a general sounding board for the rest of the committee.
You control the Clubs finances and are to ensure that the club has correct standards and monitoring of its finances. You will be involved in the general banking associated with our events, transferring of funds to members in the event of this being required and also general monitoring of funds in and out of the account. You will be required to provide annual financial statements
You will communicate with the other members of the committee and the club members. Your role will involve communication with Cycling Australia and NSW in relation to membership queries and race sanctioning. You will be a general point of contact for members and potential members. You will assist the President in the day to day running of the club. You will maintain the State Handicaps on behalf of Cycling NSW and Oz.

These roles will look at assisting on items such as social rides and events. Women’s Co-Ordinator, Cyclocross, Mountain Bike Representatives.
We would really like to fill the role of Womens Co-Ordinator, a role that has remained vacant during 2017 after no nominations were received for 2017. This is a role that has the potential to really help and grow this area of the Club.
