The first race back after the extended COVID recess was one for old school racers who thrive when the racing conditions are at their worst. With overnight forecasts looking really grim, many who has signed up to race turned off their alarms which left it to the hard core and race depraved to fight it out in the cold and wet. The racing matched the conditions, with every field decimated by the end by hard riding and riders came to the line in dribs and drabs.

Another great turn out for the West Head Road race on Sunday March 1st. A few tweaks to the format including a slightly more humane starting time, the addition of a super master’s grade, and the reduction of the A grade race from 4 to 3 laps seemed to have worked judging by the strong turnout and more than one grade being sold out days before the race.Continue reading
